"Striking and original, innovative characterisation and interwoven plot"
Following a successful preview run in February 2016, during which it played to audiences at Trowbridge Arts, The Ustinov Studio Bath and The St James Theatre Victoria, Reel Life is now booking for a UK tour in 2017, opening at the Cheltenham Everyman.
Reel Life, by Alys Metcalf, began its life as a short 20 minute piece written as a reaction to Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World, as part of The St James Theatre's 'RE:Act' programme.
Adam Lenson, who directed the St James Theatre's production of Songs For A New World enjoyed Alys's response so much that he offered to direct a full length version of the play, with Folio producing.
Folio and Adam worked with Alys to develop the script for the preview run in 2016 and it is now being further developed for the 2017 tour.
Wry, affecting and utterly engaging, Reel Life is a story of love, loss and longing, shining a light on what it really is to be human.
